Emergency Relief in Gaza

The ongoing conflict in Gaza has created immense suffering, depriving families of food, clean water and medical care. Hospitals have been overwhelmed and widespread destruction has left thousands homeless. Thanks to your support, we catered for 391,012 instances of need, delivering essential relief to those most affected. Our teams distributed over 58,000 freshly cooked meals and 7,188 family food packs, ensuring that thousands of people had access to food during the hardest days of the crisis. Additionally, we supplied one million litres of clean water, providing relief to over 79,500 people, and delivered medical assistance and medicines to cater for 210,000 instances of need. In a place where access to healthcare is scarce, this support was truly life-saving.

Providing Clean Water for Thousands

Access to clean and safe drinking water remains one of the most urgent needs in many parts of the world. In 2024, we made significant progress in addressing water scarcity. We installed 5,940 water hand pumps, giving 142,350 people access to safe drinking water every year. These hand pumps provide a sustainable water source for families who previously had to walk long distances for water.

In areas struggling with severe droughts, we introduced 269 solar-powered water wells in Pakistan and Uganda, benefiting 54,400 people. These wells provide a sustainable, long-term solution, using solar energy to draw water from deep underground. Additionally, 131 larger water wells were constructed across Bangladesh, Pakistan and Uganda, providing clean water to 35,460 people. By improving access to clean water, we have helped prevent disease and eased the daily burden on countless families.

Rebuilding Lives After Disasters

In Bangladesh, the worst floods in three decades left millions homeless, putting over two million children at risk. With your support, we distributed food packs to 4,968 people, repaired homes for 528 individuals and constructed mid-term shelters for 74 displaced Rohingya refugees. These efforts provided security and stability to those who lost everything in the disaster.

In Pakistan, the devastating floods displaced thousands of families, destroying homes and livelihoods. In response, we partnered with Al Madina Mosque Barking to establish the Al Madina Model Village in Matiari, Sindh. This initiative provided 100 flood-affected families with new homes, each equipped with a kitchen, toilet and solar lighting. The village also includes a community centre, mosque, children’s park and trading market, ensuring long-term sustainability and development. By creating opportunities for self-sufficiency, such as kitchen gardening and local trade, this project has helped families regain stability and dignity.

Feeding the Needy Through Qurbani

Qurbani is a sacred duty that brings nourishment and joy to millions of people during Eid-ul-Adha. In 2024, thanks to your generous donations, we distributed fresh Qurbani meat to 402,264 people across 13 countries. A total of 20,341 Qurbanis were performed, with 242,660 kilograms of meat provided to needy families. This initiative ensured that even the most vulnerable could enjoy the blessings of Eid. Beyond Qurbani, we continue to offer Aqiqah and Sadaqah sacrifices, providing fresh meat to those who rarely have access to nutritious meals.

Empowering Families Through Zakat

Zakat is a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty. In 2024, your Zakat donations helped transform lives by enabling 3,738 people to start their own businesses. These small enterprises have provided families in Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Uganda, Kenya, Yemen and Palestine with a sustainable income, helping them escape poverty. Additionally, 408 people benefitted from the Zakat housing initiative, which included 22 new houses and 38 house improvements with material support through Zakat donations, offering them a safe and dignified place to live. By turning charity into opportunity, we are giving people the chance to build a brighter future.

Rescuing and Educating Vulnerable Children

Every child deserves safety, education and a future filled with hope. In 2024, we rescued 700 children in Bangladesh and Tanzania, ensuring they were placed in safe environments or with carefully vetted foster families. Many of these children had been living in dangerous conditions, with no protection or support.

Education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Through our programmes, 2,698 children in Bangladesh and Pakistan received non-formal education, equipping them with essential skills for a better future.

In Daulatdia, one of the largest brothel villages in the world, women and children remain trapped in cycles of exploitation. Since 2019, we have been working to break this cycle by offering alternative livelihoods and safe housing. In 2024, we provided land, homes and financial support to 18 women, enabling them to leave this life behind and start afresh with dignity and security.

Supporting Communities at Home

Our commitment to serving humanity extends beyond international aid. In the UK, we partnered with Bassetlaw District Council to launch the Happy to Chat’ benches initiative, aimed at combating loneliness and social isolation. With 24% of adults in Bassetlaw feeling isolated, these benches provide a space for people to connect and engage in conversation.
